Help their kids play!

Soccer Balls

While we strive to provide a quality cup of coffee for you, soccer is our passion, and sharing the game is our number one priority. Our goal is to make sure the kids in the coffee regions we work with all have the proper equipment to play. This video was taken when we first arrived in Capucas in 2008 and shows the kids making a soccer ball with a coffee sack. Over the past few years Little Feet has provided hundreds of soccer balls to all the kids in Las Capucas. More importantly we have provided soccer balls to all the schools in the surrounding areas so they have enough supply to run soccer programs at their schools. Not surprisingly, most of the farmers of Las Capucas play soccer as well and each farmer now has their own Little Feet soccer ball too.

Soccer Field

While equipment is important, the kids need a place to play. While there were a few dirt fields around town, Las Capucas did not have a real soccer field for these kids to play on. Our first program is in Las Capucas, Honduras. Little Feet was able to use a combination of our coffee sales proceeds and donations to build our first ever soccer field. Below are pictures from the construction of this field.

This field will be complete in August 2010. Our goal is to begin working with other coffee cooperatives and have 4 more soccer fields built in coffee growing regions by the end of 2011.

Training:
Little Feet also is committed to giving soccer training to both the kids of Capucas as well as the farmers to be able to coach their kids. For the past 2 years we have run training clinics for the entire community. Once the soccer field is complete, we will organize the kids into the first ever youth soccer league of Las Capucas.
